Purification of the mind, body and energy
I had the wonderful opportunity at the Shoren-in Temple Kyoto Japan, in April 2023 to ring the bell for purification and cleansing. The sound and vibration is beautiful.
The ringing of the Bell is for Purification of the mind, body and energy.
Shorenin (青蓮院, Shōrenin) is a temple of the Tendai sect of Japanese Buddhism located at the foot of Kyoto’s Higashiyama mountains that has close relationships to the imperial family.
It is said that ringing the bell will purify and cleanse the mind, body and spirit. The ringing of the bell is associated with Zen Buddhism practices.
The sound of the bell is believed to drive away negative energy, create a peaceful and serene environment. Bring in blessings and long life.
